2021.09.23 20:17 throwaway8889801 Reconnected with a woman from over 20 years ago
She contacted me through social media and we started talking pretty regularly. She’s recently divorced and has some social anxiety, I also have some social anxiety and the pandemic hasn’t helped with that aspect although we both do go out with friends.
I got very sick last week (covid negative, just the flu) and haven’t contacted her in that time. I messaged her when I was starting to feel better, apologized for kind of disappearing and said I’d still like to get together. No response from her.
We had made plans prior to me getting sick but she broke them off showing signs of anxiety.
My question is, should I just wait for her to respond and give up if she doesn’t or should I say something. Our conversations were really good nothing that may have turned her off to me or anything until I got sick. I’m kind of stuck here because if it is anxiety I don’t want to trigger her by being to overbearing but if she’s just over me but didn’t respond then I dodged a bullet.

2021.09.23 20:17 dannycap77 Advice on CS Online Bachelor's Programs
I'm looking for some advice on an online bachelors program.
I'm in my mid 40's and I already have a fairly successful IT automation manager career. I have about 60 hours worth of credits from 20 years ago that I'm hoping to get transferred to help get me started. At the time I was focused on an AS in systems information, but I always wished I would have gotten a 4 year CS degree. So that brings me to why I even want to get this degree. I'm doing this mostly for personal accomplishment, but it will certainly have an impact on my future career, maybe not as much as someone just getting started.
Anyways, I'm looking at 3 online programs and I wanted to get feedback on these schools and also find out if there are other schools I should be looking at.
Oregon State University
Colorado State University
Any feedback and advice is welcome. Thanks!

I don't feel anything for a change, i am indifferent to everything. I still see reality but just don't care.
I am so tired of trying and caring.
Depression is a bliss.

2021.09.23 20:17 oaks_parcel Joy swearing?
Has anyone seen Carlin's youtube video telling her family she's pregnant? When she calls Joy and shows her the pregnancy test, I hear Joy say, "no f*cking way!" Am I crazy? I've never heard a Duggar swear before.
Here's the video, around 3:28 -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSQn4FX6GNI

2021.09.23 20:17 superherojhn Nova (Richard Rider) Recommended Reads?
First time posting here, so I hope this is the right spot. I've always thought Nova had a really cool design, but I've never really known where to start with him. Any recommendations on solid stories to read to get a firm idea on him? Specifically, I'm looking for stuff on Richard Rider, but anything about the Corps in general or Sam Alexander would be interesting too. Thanks in advance!

2021.09.23 20:17 eyoxa Seeking suggestions for commemorating grandfather
My cousins and I would like to commemorate our grandfather, who died last year. He lived his whole life in the Soviet Union, was a veteran of WWII, a socialist and a proud Jew.
We’d like to commemorate him with a donation to something he would have cared about - maybe a jewish center, a veteran's organization or something related to Israel. We’d like it to result in something physical, maybe a tree in his honor or a plaque with his name on it.
All of the grandchildren are living in NYC and Boston, but we are open to organizations in any location.
Does anyone have any suggestions for us?

2021.09.23 20:17 BlackSquirrelMed How to maximize your KSU scholarship offers as an incoming freshman: a guide from a recent alum (2021 updates)
NOTE: I posted this last year but have tried to update links where applicable, and add any new information that I have encountered!
KSU is good value compared to other colleges out there, but every dollar counts, especially when interest accumulates. You don't know where life will take you (maybe you have issues getting a job immediately after graduation, maybe you want to go to graduate/professional school, etc), so being as financially free as possible will pay dividends down the road. I'm a 2019 alumni and put this guide together based on my own experiences, which got me $10,000/year in tuition scholarships, plus some additional money from the Honors College for living expenses, and a couple other scholarships here and there during the four years I was at Kent. Add in a job I held for three years and a bit of family help with living expenses, and this was enough for me to graduate from Kent debt-free. This was huge for me since I'm now in medical school, which I will not be graduating debt-free from (think six figures). Every dollar counts, and I'm thankful I don't have interest accumulating on both old and current loans.
1) If you meet the requirements for admission, apply to the Honors College.
https://www.kent.edu/admissions/undergraduate/scholarships-new-freshmen-ohio . The chart on this page shows you how much scholarship money you can get based on your high school stats. Notice the H superscripts on a lot of them? This means you have to be admitted to the Honors College to receive this amount, including all of the highest amounts.
There are other huge benefits to being admitted to the Honors College. I know that "honors courses" may sound scary, but there were loads of options in my experience. Plus you get priority scheduling (huge for customizing your schedule, especially as a freshman) and more potential scholarship opportunities, so really there's no good reason not to give it a shot. https://www.kent.edu/honors/apply#tabs-0-feature_bottom-1 for more information and the application link. Note that you have to be admitted as of this time to apply by the priority December 15 deadline. Planning ahead/not procrastinating is key, and this will be a recurring theme going forward.
Currently, admission to the Honors College is test-score optional (https://www.kent.edu/honors/apply#tabs-0-feature_bottom-1#tabs-0-feature_bottom-1#tabs-0-feature_bottom-1) but having a score would probably make things easier for both yourself and the admissions team.
2) Use premade tools to identify more scholarships you are eligible for, and apply for lots at once
http://www.sfa.kent.edu/SchGuide/IFScholarshipSearchEnterDrupal.asp is a site you should absolutely check out to see what other Kent scholarships you can apply for. You put in some basic information and it generates a large list of potential scholarships you can apply for. While not all of these scholarships will be applicable to you, some will be, and you can check boxes next to them and save them as a list for your reference (I also recommend printing the list out).
Then after you do the above, you should fill out this https://www.kent.edu/financialaid/2021-2022-student-financial-aid-scholarship-application which allows you to apply for a load of scholarships at once, although do note that you cannot it out until you are actually admitted. (If you're waiting to apply to KSU, maybe send that app in today, eh?)
3) If you know what you plan to major in, look at the department website for even more scholarships
I majored in chemistry at Kent, and part of my tuition scholarships came directly from the department. A lot of departments have forms that allow you to apply for lots of scholarships at once, just like the mass application I mentioned in bullet 2 of step 2. https://www.kent.edu/chemistry/awards-scholarships for an example. For another example, here's the fashion department, which seems to have like 60+ scholarships: https://www.kent.edu/fashion/scholarships
4) Finally, don't forget your own high school and local community!
Your school probably has some sort of "Senior Night" where scholarships are given out en masse. Make sure you apply for anything you're eligible for! I got an additional $500 or $1000 this way.
Look up whatever county you live in. There's probably a community foundation that offers scholarships, and oftentimes they're practically begging to give this money away due to a lack of applicants.
Hopefully many of you find this helpful, and please feel free to send any questions you have my way!

2021.09.23 20:17 12086478 I want to quit the job I just started , please help.
I'm 23 and this is the first job I've had in 5 year due to anxiety and severe depression
I thought it would be good, similar to my last job in a warehouse as a picker packer
But it's shit , 46 hours a week walking around giant warehouse 8 hours a day. Its hot, my body kills after 4 hours and I'm just so miserable.
I feel pathetic and such a let down to my mum and family I'm so scared of even talking to them about it.
It was supposed to help me but its made everything so much worse
Do I just suck it up or do I quit and return to unemployment while I get help and even try go back to school so I'm not forced to do unskilled work such as this .
