2021.12.02 19:36 domesticplant Colorful eyeshadow palettes from Revolution for muted warm olives?
Hey everyone! I really want to wear colorful eyeshadow, but the colorful palettes usually have bright or pastel tones which don't suit me at all :(
I'm looking for a palette with like forest greens, some kind of rich purple, maybe a parliament blue, or just anything non-neutral that would suit muted warm skin!
I specified Revolution because I need smth cheap and I can't find many brands where I live.

2021.12.02 19:36 murjy Let's talk about Historical Jesus.
This is less of a religious post and more of a historical post about Jesus, but a couple of things about Jesus.
When people refer to him as "rabbi" that probably is not a colloquialism. Jesus was probably an actual rabbi. Jesus quotes from the Septuagint all the time, and his mastery of Greek and Hebrew probably means he received proper rabbinical education. Yes he was a carpenter but many rabbis held other day jobs at the time.
This is also supported by the fact that Jesus is constantly in communication with high levels of government and religious officials in the Bible. He could do that, because he probably was one of them.
Jesus was also heavily influence by a Pharisee named Hillel the Elder. Hilel the Elder is famous for his Golden rule philosophy. Although this is true, Jesus did not like the overly ritualistic nature of the Pharisees. He also did not like the Saduccees but he doesn't talk about them as often as the Pharisees were in charge at the time in the Sanhedrin.
Jesus was also probably a Zealot. Zealots are a group that's far from being uniform but his messianic claims are typical of Zealots at the time.

2021.12.02 19:36 designerbagels Did I fuck up my interview?
In my Columbia interview, I was asked what my plans for my future are. I want to be a surgeon so I said major in biology and get my PHD at medical school. I obviously know that you need an MD not a PHD and that’s what I meant to say but I didn’t notice the misstep until after the interview. I felt like the rest of it went pretty well though. Am I going to get declined because of this? How bad is it? I’m so embarrassed and can’t imagine what my interviewer thought (but am praying on some small sliver of hope that she didn’t notice). What y’all think?

2021.12.02 19:36 salfkvoje How are unpaid lunches a thing that people agree is okay? Can I go spend my time/skills in that time working for someone else? No? Pay me
It seems crazy when you start to look at it. And it's even more obviously exploitative when you have worked more than a day in 99% of places, and realizes that your unpaid lunch can be interrupted when work calls.
Sorry, that seems like "on-call" to me, and so that seems like hours I need compensation for. It's gone so long unchallenged, I myself didn't even question it until I started thinking about it.

2021.12.02 19:36 flamingorange1203 Does anyone feel slightly put off in a way when they are watching live football or any sports for that matter online that has a delay in it?
*When I mean watching games online, I mean through genuine methods such as Now Tv, Prime Video or even Sky Glass, not some random dodgy streaming site.*
For the people saying to switch of the phone and don't go on social media to avoid spoiling any goals or other dramatic moments, I already do that but that's not the point. The point is that I just generally don't like the fact of being 20-30 seconds behind the action. Yes I know there is a delay in satellite, ariel and cable broadcasting (cable apparently being the worst), although it is no where near as bad as it is online. We have Sky Q so obviously watch all the games through satellite so the delay won't be as big, but since the mid-week matches appear to be only broadcast on Prime Video which uses internet, I now have to put up with the annoying 30 second delay.
So to the people who regularly watch matches over the internet, does the delay bother you or not really?

Decent neighbourhood and had my bike locked in front of my house (dumb idea) for the night because of renovations in the house.
Poof gone and was told to file a police report. What does a police report even do?

2021.12.02 19:36 klingonbussy During American segregation were interracial relationships between a white person and a non black person of color not as frowned upon?
I’m asking this because I can recall several movies and TV shows from that era that had interracial couples in them but seem to have been viewed as kind of uncontroversial. In “I Love Lucy” the title character is married to a Cuban man, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz were married in real life as well. I remember a few movies starring Elvis Presley in which he was in relationships with Hispanic and/or Pacific Islander women, though they were sometimes portrayed by white American actresses. In the James Bond film “You Only Live Twice”, a film released the same year interracial marriage was legalized by the Supreme Court, Bond has a relationship with a Japanese woman. In “West Side Story” the plot revolves around a relationship between a white man and a Latina woman, though there were only a few actors of actual Latin American origin in the film. I can’t recall any names but I know for a fact there were adventure films from that era where a white male protagonist’s love interest was an Asian or Pacific Islander woman, I also know there were some westerns where the white lead’s love interest was a Latina or a Native American woman, though many of these characters weren’t played by women of their particular race.
